Marilyn L. Perry, Ph.D.
SCC Perry-Nystrom Social Skills Scholarship
Dr. Marilyn Perry shares with us that the origin, or idea, for her scholarship stem from her professional and private experience with individuals whose lives are affected by social communication disorders. These disorders limit their ability to understand the social communications needed to succeed.
Impact
The scholarship supports students at Sacramento City College with Asperger’s Syndrome. Applicants must be single, show that they have a diagnosis of Asperger’s Syndrome, and that they have difficulty with social relationships. Students who receive the scholarship will need to provide evidence that scholarship funds were spent on social skill classes, groups, or coaching.
