Robert and Philinda Stillwell

Robert and Philinda Stillwell are the donors to the William Stillwell Memorial Scholarship Endowment, in memory of Robert’s brother, William Stillwell.

William Gardner Stillwell attended Sacramento City College from 1968 to 1970. He greatly enjoyed his time there, particularly participating on the water polo team. Bill graduated California State University Sacramento with a B.A., and eventually USC with a Ph.D. in organizational psychology, with a specialization in decision analysis. Bill brought enthusiasm and fun to everything he did. He was particularly adept at describing prior events always with some modification. His ability to embellish a story was unparalleled. Unfortunately, he died too soon at the age of 45, leaving a wife, son, and daughter. When he died, Bill was working with the Department of Energy on developing a decision model for the disposal of the country’s nuclear waste.

Impact
