Shirley Short

The Alice Palmer Scholarship was created by Shirley Short, a former faculty member and administrator who worked at Sacramento City College for 35 years. Shirley named this scholarship in honor and in memory of her friend Alice Palmer, who passed away in 2000. Alice fostered more than 70 children during her lifetime, including children with disabilities. Shirley is honoring and recognizing Alice’s selflessness and dedication to helping others through this scholarship.
