Bryan always wanted to be a soldier. He spent a year after graduating from high school working and going to college. He had joined the Army Early Entry Program as a high school junior. He was attached to a National Guard unit in Lodi. After one year in college, he joined the Army full time. He and four other men were victims of a suicide bomber.
