LRCF Hoa Tran Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must have completed a minimum of 35 units with a minimum 3.0 GPA and be transferring to a 4 year university in the fall. Must be a California Dream Act Applicant. Student will be verified as a Dream Act Applicant before scholarship is awarded. Supplemental essay required.

This scholarship is named for Hoa Tran who was an immigrant single mother from Vietnam that raised five kids in South Sacramento. She was strong-willed, caring, and spoke bluntly. Hoa was a hustler at heart and was one of the very few female-owned landscaping businesses. Everything she did was to support her children, and this scholarship is in dedication to her memory. We hope that the recipient of this scholarship dedicates themselves to others as Hoa has done in her remarkable life
