Society of American Military Engineers Sacramento Post

The Sacramento Post of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) awards scholarships annually to high school seniors and college students who are pursuing an engineering or related technical degree. SAME is a non-profit association linking military and civilian engineers, architects, and engineering-related professionals. SAME’s membership totals more than 22,000 civilians, 6,000 members of the armed forces, and 1,000 engineering students.

Up to three scholarships of $1,500 to $2,500 to community college students, including those working toward an AA degree, and pursuing an engineering or related technical degree

To be eligible for an award, the scholarship applicant must be:

  • A U.S. citizen;
  • A graduating high school senior, or a full-time undergraduate student at an accredited university or community college; and
  • From or currently located in the Sacramento area (see details below); and
  • Pursuing, or intending to pursue, a degree in any engineering field or related technical degree, including architecture, mathematics, physics, or environmental sciences. Please note that degrees in computer/software engineering, pre-med, chemistry, biology, microbiology, and related natural sciences do not qualify for the scholarship award.
